Are you a Lucky Duck?

August 31st, 2010 by Peak Potentials Team

You have to know by now that while there are a lot of ways to put yourselfPicture 21 Are you a Lucky Duck?on an intersect with wealth and prosperity, there’s also a certain element of luck associated with getting rich or finding any kind of success.

Take for example a guy that purchases a fantastically catchy web address for his website about pizza and goes on to sell it for $2.6 million. Or a land developer that invests in property in the middle of nowhere that suddenly becomes the middle of somewhere.

What do they both have in common? They could be brilliant strategy and preparation, or it could just be just sheer luck. Or both. Who knows!? The one thing we know for sure is that they stepped up to the banks of life’s river and jumped in with no hesitation. They took to success like ducks to water.

Here it is: No luck, or anything worthwhile for that matter, will ever come your way unless you take some form of action.

As our dear friend Brian Tracy says, “I've found that luck is quite predictable. If you want more luck, take more chances. Be more active. Show up more often.” And we couldn’t agree more.

It’s the same with finances. To succeed financially, you have to do something, buy something, or start something in order to get anywhere. And when you do, is it luck or is it the Universe (yay!) supporting you in its miraculous ways for having the courage and commitment to go for it? As far as we’re concerned, who cares? It just happens!

Rich people see an opportunity, jump on it, and get even richer. As for not-rich people, they’re still “preparing” on the banks of that river! Stop preparing to get rich and start getting rich NOW. Get those feathers wet! Trust in yourself and your abilities. Know that you can make intelligent decisions in the spur of the moment, make corrections with certainty and strength and paddle your way to success.

Also remember that what you focus on expands! Always think about what you want, instead of what you don’t want. Continue being overwhelmed by the amount of opportunities around you to become rich and you’ll find yourself there faster than you can say, “I’m a lucky duck!”

-Your Peak Potentials Team

We want to hear from you! When is that last time you felt lucky? What fell into place? What became possible? What did you achieve? We’d love to hear your lucky duck story!

Come on in… the water’s RICH!

August 18th, 2010 by admin

Swimming Come on in… the water’s RICH!

Rich people focus on opportunities.

Poor people focus on obstacles.

Come on in… the water’s RICH!

Did you know that there are no straight lines in the universe? (Note: we checked with the universe, but all we got back was a smirk and a wink, so we’re going with yes.) None! Don’t believe us? Try making a plan with no wiggle room and watch as those obstacles come rolling down the mountain!

Those of us who’ve learned this lesson (usually the hard way!) now know that life’s more of a winding river than a straight line; complete with raging rapids, smooth sailing and even the occasional waterfall (or two) to show us what we’re really made of. With every twist and turn, we get little glimpses of what’s coming our way, with every obstacle or opportunity we meet, there’s comfort in knowing that, no matter how good or bad it gets, the current will always keep us moving forward.

So here it is: Focus on opportunities and tune out the obstacles. In fact, let’s take the word obstacle out of your vocabulary! Pick it up by its squirmy little britches and drop kick it out the nearest window. Once he’s road pancake you can make room for your new best friend— opportunity. From here on out, every boulder that comes down the mountain, every time life comes out a-swingin’ it’s just opportunity knocking at your door, reminding you of everything you’re capable of.

If we know the river of life is where it’s at, you have one thing to ask yourself: what are you still doing standing on the sidelines? Get in there! You’ll be surprised how quickly the current can pull you toward all the success and opportunity that’s waiting for you downriver that you would never have known was there if you hadn’t jumped in.

Expect to succeed.

Be confident, and get in the game with whatever you’ve got.

The next time life throws an opportunity in your way (see what we did there?), take a breath and remember that the key is to tweak your mindset from “It won’t work” to “I sure hope this works” to “OF COURSE THIS WILL WORK!”

And in the worst of cases, as Harv always says, “Action always beats inaction,” and he tends to know what he’s talking about … so JUMP IN!!!

Happy Paddling!

-Your Peak Potentials Team

Now it's your turn! Do you think you can take on this new mindset?  Can you "jump in" when new opportunities arise? Tell us your thoughts!

Tough Economy Who?

August 12th, 2010 by admin

millionaire-mindset

In today’s tough economy… wait… we can’t finish that sentence without wanting to come unglued. Enough with sentences that start with “In today’s tough economy.” There’s still money everywhere, you just have to find the drive to keep looking for it!

We’ve already talked about how placing blame on your life circumstances (i.e. the economy) is a surefire way to find failure beyond your wildest dreams, but we haven’t talked about what some of the negatives of being rich really are. Can you think of any?

If the answer is yes, you’ve got a little bit of work to do.

If the answer is no, pat yourself on the back. You’re probably getting rich just reading this! There is no negative to being rich. There’s no downside when you compare it to not being rich!

So here’s your million dollar coaching: Stop wanting to get rich and start COMMITTING to being rich.

The biggest difference between rich people and people who aren’t, is that rich people don’t just want to be rich, they aren’t even choosing to be rich, they’re 1,000,000% committed to being rich. When you commit to something what is different? What immediately changes? Does it feel empowering or daunting?

When you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you’re committed to being rich, you’ll put everything you’ve got into it, without reservation, without even missing a beat.

Do whatever it takes? Sure!  Put the time in until the job gets done? No problem! Risk everything with no guarantee of returns? Where do I sign up?  Read this again. This is the mindset of a rich person.

When you think you can’t put in any more… you put in whatever you’ve got left and just wait and see what our ol’ pal the universe (shout-out!) has in store for you.

What’s something that you can commit to today? Can you commit to financial abundance in 2010 and beyond? Can you commit to contributing beyond yourself? Can you commit to that FTW net worth (that’s “For The Win” for those who missed that post!) right now?

We’re committing to never start a sentence with the words “in today’s tough economy” ever again!

How about you? What are you willing to commit to right now? We want to know!

You’ve SO got this . . .

Today’s Winning Numbers Are . . .

August 10th, 2010 by admin

Picture 11 Todays Winning Numbers Are . . .

When was the last time you reached a point in your life where you were able to take a step back and celebrate something you’ve successfully created? Getting a business off the ground, finishing a home improvement project, or even making that perfectly folded omelet…something that took focus, determination and a little bit of creative gusto. If it’s been a while, it probably says a lot about how your life is going (maybe not so great) and if it’s a common occurrence, you’re no doubt in the zone!

So here it is: if you’re constantly associating your creations, failures and successes, on your life circumstances— your job, your relationship, your bank account, your waist size, your debt, your age, your gender, your hairy toes— long term and sustainable success is likely not in the cards for you. You can blame, justify, and complain about your circumstances until you’re blue in the face, but you’ll never find the wealth and abundance you seek unless you can figure out how to change your mindset.

How do you do it? Flip it around!

What if you pinned your successes and failures on the power of YOU instead?

Stop buying ‘life lottery’ tickets, sitting and hoping and praying that one of these days the big number will finally land on you and start realizing that YOU are the sure bet, the solid wager and the winning number- all rolled into one. Forget the excuses. Get behind the wheel, put on those ridiculously cool sunglasses, rev the engine, and punch it!

When you create abundance and success beyond your wildest dreams, what does it mean? What becomes possible? What can you achieve? Who can you be?

Race toward those goals,

Your Peak Potentials Team

Now it's your turn!  What do you think of the concept of "life lottery" tickets?  Does it resonate with you?  Not buying it? We would love to hear your thoughts.  Post below!

Do You Live FTW?

August 4th, 2010 by admin

for the win

Whenever you aim to achieve a financial goal, or really any goal, it’s best to start with the end in mind. Decide in advance what your goals are going to be and put them down on paper.

Aw heck, let’s take some action instead of just talking about it!

Grab a piece of paper and a writing utensil and answer the following questions:

1. What is your desired annual income?

2. What is your desired net worth?

Done?

Great! Go ahead and add a couple more zeros on the end of both of those numbers. NOW we’re talking! Are you getting excited? Come on! Maybe just a little bit?

So here’s the question: If some people play a game to win, and others play not to lose, where do you think they’re going to end up? If your first set of numbers were calculated to just cover your mortgage, car payments, insurance, credit card debt and have a little bit of spending money on the side are you really playing for the win? Was your desired net worth a number that you were hesitant to write? Did you think of a big number first and then scale it back to a safer number? See where we’re going with this?

If you want to score a goal, you don’t hang back and play defense. You push it as hard as it can go, rock the offense and never back down. Similarly, if you’re looking to reach a financial goal, you’re going to value pushing for wealth and abundance over hanging back for survival and security. If you’re looking for a win, you don’t shoot for the moon; you shoot for that big red dot on the Jupiter!

Do you like baseball? We do! Take the San Diego (our most recent hometown!) Padres for example. The Padres started the season ranked 27th only to find themselves cracking the top 10 and then the top 5 in short succession. They’re sweepin’ it up all over the place so far this season, and it’s safe to say that they’re playing this year FTW – For The Win. Shouldn’t you be too?

Playing for the win is vital. Since your focus will ultimately determine your destination, focus on getting the win instead of avoiding the loss. Every time you’re up at bat in life, in your finances, even in your relationships, you have to play FTW. Say it out loud as your new personal mantra! Get it into your subconscious and bring it into your world. All together now: FTW!!!

Go Padres!

Your Peak Potentials Team

P.S. We’re curious… if you constantly played FTW, how would your life be different? Share with us below—we want to hear from you!

The Reign in Spain Falls Mainly In Your Brain.

July 29th, 2010 by admin

millionaire-mind-spain

Have you noticed the incredible year that Spain is having? First Nadal owned Wimbledon, then Spain took the World Cup and now Alberto Contador dominates the Tour de France! They’re not just having a big year; they’re having a HUGE year. Which begs the question, shouldn’t you be too?

You’ve heard the phrase, “Go big or go home,” and frankly we’re a little over it. If you’re totally committed and playing for the win, going home clearly is not an option. So from now on, we’re going to say, “Go big or go HUGE!” Why not? That’s clearly what Spain has in mind.

Really take the time to figure out how you want to live your life. How do you want to play the game? Do you want to play in the big leagues or in the little leagues, in the majors or the minors?

The next time you feel like you’re feeling unworthy or uninspired and you’re thinking small, or even just big, stop and change your mindset. Feel that Spanish reign (not a typo) and ask yourself, “What would Spain do?”

Live life to your full potential. Share your gifts. Contribute beyond yourself. Whenever we need inspiration to go HUGE, we think about Buckminster Fuller’s quote: “The purpose of our lives is to add value to the people of this generation and those that follow.”

We want to know, what’s your favorite inspirational quote? What inspires you to go HUGE? Make sure to post it below.

¡Viva España!

Guest Post By Peak Potentials Video Contest Winner Chantelle Tibbs

June 18th, 2010 by admin

chantelleposter2 199x300 Guest Post By Peak Potentials Video Contest Winner Chantelle Tibbs

Wow, thanks so much for taking the time to hear me out. I had a great time making this video with producer and fellow songwriter Mick Souza, who I met at the Millionaire Mind Intensive! So glad to have had the opportunity to share so many things I'm grateful for.

Since the video I have toured with my music twice more to the Pacific Northwest, did a Verizon Commercial for a new phone called "The Kin" and shot another ad for a company called CITRIX. And I booked the lead role in a film called “Milk Money” being shot in Oakland.

On June 2nd my music video for one of my songs "Familiar Mistakes" aired

on national television. One of my visualization exercises in the Millionaire Mind Intensive 90-day workbook came true when I got to sing with a favorite band at the music venue of my dreams, The Great American Music Hall here in San Francisco. And I recently teamed up with singer/songwriter Nathan Hughes to form a guy/gal Americana duo called "Kamp Camille."

One of the sweetest things I’ve gotten to do is give $600 to other artists who need money for supplies and living costs through Money Be Green, which I started in October 2009.

How do I plan to spend the prize money?

First things first, Mick and I are sharing the prize winnings. Super glad we were able to collaborate and make this video together.

As for my share, I'm going to put 25% into my business (for acting/and singing), and 75% gets jarred. I have accounts for each of the jars and I'm really diehard about them.

I've jarred as little as $1 before!

Now that I'm making money, I’m so grateful there isn't a huge whole at the bottom of the basket I'm carrying my money in. I have a lot more to learn, but I’m definitely stoked I have a solid foundation – that, of course, being the Jar System.

Here's what I'll do in excruciating detail, if you can handle it, lol.

Half goes to Mick.

$250 goes towards my business.

$750 gets JARRED:

- Expenses…$412.50 covers my phone bill, rent and some food. I whittled my monthly expenses down to $392, not counting food.

- Play…$75 goes toward a trip to NY in August.

- Education…$75 goes toward bikram yoga.

- Give…$37.50 goes toward MoneyBeGreen.com. I pay artists $50 for supplies and living costs. If you're an artist feel free to sign up.

- Financial Freedom…$75 gets split up into ETF's representing small cap stocks, gold, silver, clean energy and biotech. (Not financial advice, btw.)

- Long-term Savings…$75 gets put toward some dental issues I need to take care of. OUCH! Lol.

Special Thanks to T. Harv Eker

I want to thank you for being the one to say what I needed to hear when I was ready to hear it. "Changed my life" is an understatement. You helped me craft to a “T” the exact kind of life I want to lead. I'm living that life as we speak, and still crafting it, and loving it!

I was pretty much a broke hipster in San Francisco, lol. Dropped out of college after like one semester, got fired from my retail job and quit another. I had over $5,000 in high-interest credit card debt. Drinking, not really smoking, but definitely straight west coasting…and drowning in drama!

I did Quantum Leap and I Highly, Highly recommend it. It was the kind of college I had been seeking.

To anyone reading this, you can and will succeed too. Just know it for a fact and watch as you live into it. If you have anything to ask me at all, or just want to say hi, go for it. My email is chantelletibbs@gmail.com.

You're in good hands with Peak Potentials Training.

Cheers,

Chantelle

But one thing you CAN control is your thoughts.

And that’s all it takes. If you can control your thoughts,

you can control your actions. And when you can
